How to list your server and climb the rankings

Everything a server owner needs: listing requirements, banner sizes, tags, sponsored slots and the habits that actually bring players.

Listing your server

  1. Create an account or sign in with Google. Accounts are only needed for listing; your players never need one.
  2. On the dashboard click Add server.
  3. Enter the name, address and port. The server must be online, because we ping it to confirm it exists and to pull the version, player count and icon.
  4. Write a description of at least 200 characters. Say what the gamemodes are, what makes your server different, and who it is for.
  5. Choose one to seven tags that honestly match your server. Wrong tags get removed and hurt you, because players who wanted something else leave immediately.
  6. Upload a 468x60 banner (PNG, GIF or JPEG, under 1 MB). Servers with a banner get far more clicks than the automatic one.
  7. Add your website, Discord and a YouTube trailer if you have them.

Climbing the rankings

Rank is decided only by votes this month. The servers at the top are not there because they paid; they are there because their players vote every day. That means the way up is:

  • Set up Votifier and reward every vote. Read the Votifier guide.
  • Put a vote command in your server that links directly to your vote page with the player's name pre-filled.
  • Remind players. A join message, a scoreboard line and a Discord channel with the vote link all work. Top voter competitions with a monthly prize work best of all.
  • Keep your uptime high. We ping every five minutes. Servers older than ten days are removed automatically if uptime drops below 25%, and players do not vote for offline servers.

Sponsored slots

A limited number of sponsored slots appear above the rankings on the homepage, tag pages and search results. See the sponsored servers page for how to get one.

Claiming an existing listing

Some large servers are listed here before their owners sign up. If you own one, open its page and click Claim this server. You will be asked to put a short code in your server's MOTD for a few minutes so we can confirm you control it, then the listing is yours to edit.
